Brunch has arrived at Surco Café! A few months ago we told you about this small coffee shop located in the heart of the city of Ensenada in the iconic “Plaza Villa Mexicana”.
Surco Café seeks to maintain the Mexican traditions in a cup of coffee and with different drinks inspired by our culture, but now, they have a new proposal with a delicious brunch menu that you will love.
The chef and creator of the menu, Alvaro Pedroza, told us that his recipes are inspired by “Comfort Food”, dishes that he has eaten at his mother’s house and make you feel the warmth of home.
With a concept of osteria: which describes these places in Italy where originally wine and simple food were served, but lately, the emphasis has shifted towards food, with short and rotating menus. This is exactly what Surco Brunch offers: warm dishes that remind you of home with room for creativity and chef’s proposals, which are constantly changing.
On this occasion we tried the classic chilaquiles, eggs in casserole, a light avocado toast and what we consider the stars: the french toast with plum and the Nitamago eggs (boiled eggs marinated in soy, of Japanese origin and mostly found in ramen), incredible!
While Surco is a small café, its kitchen and dining section is across the hallway. “Even though the space is small, it doesn’t mean that the cook can’t get technical,” were Alvaro’s words. So now you know what to expect on your next visit to Surco: good coffee, good food and constant pleasant surprises.
Cafeteria open every day of the week and brunch from Thursday to Sunday, you have to visit them soon! 100% recommended.
