It all started for Oliver 27 years ago as a kitchen assistant in different restaurants in the city. Until 4 years ago that the effort of a lifetime, materialized in his own project: Seki.
After gathering those elements from his experience and what he was most passionate about, Seki was born, a very fresh and defined proposal for Oliver, what he calls a fusion between Japanese cuisine and the good cuisine of Baja.
With a branch in Ensenada a few blocks from Playa Hermosa, this year he inaugurates Seki Valle, in order to bring his restaurant closer to the visitors of our colorful Valle de Guadalupe. Incorporating a selection of wines from the region such as Lechuza, Villa Montefiori, Madera 5, Monte Xanic and many more, as well as craft beer and its mixology bar.
Oliver, founding partner and executive chef of Seki, besides being an example of perseverance and success, is a well-liked and remarkable person in the gastronomic field. Always willing to help, promote and celebrate the work of his colleagues. Even though, like many, the pandemic affected the operations and economy of his business, he decided not to stop and pushed until the last effort. The result? From taking his restaurant’s food home, to helping cook for the medical personnel who were on the front lines during the most difficult days and making donations to those affected by the fires in the Valle de Guadalupe.
Oliver, always active and with the nobility that characterizes him, whether you find him in either of the two branches, you will see him behind the grill or the griddle giving the best of himself in each dish, even up close with the diners to know what they thought of the experience.
We invite you to visit Seki and try the delicious proposal that Oliver and his team have for you, where the star is the Baja California product with all its seal of quality and freshness.
